Ways of cargo transportation to Israel. Transport communication for shipping goods to Israel

Israel is the most economically developed state in the Middle East. Even on a global level, it is one of the most developed countries. The country actively develops cutting-edge technologies. With almost no natural resources, Israel has created a powerful industry. The fact that Israel is essentially located in a desert does not prevent it from having intensive agriculture and exporting vegetables, particularly to Russia. Throughout its history, Israel has been engaged in armed struggle for its existence. Against this backdrop, Israel's economic achievements are simply astonishing.

State of transport in Israel

Israel is a modern developed state and has all the necessary infrastructure to support all modern modes of transport: aviation, road, maritime, and rail.

Israel shares land borders with Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. With all these countries, Israel has engaged in armed conflicts or is currently involved in them. Movement through the Arab world from Israel and even simply having an Israeli visa in the passport is extremely problematic. Currently, relations between Israel and Egypt and Jordan are normalized. Movement between these countries is possible. Israel's access to the Mediterranean Sea allows it to receive cargo from all over the world and send it for export by sea transport.

Road infrastructure in Israel

The network of roads in Israel is not particularly dense. The reason is that most of the country is uninhabited desert. It does not make sense to cover it with a network of roads, and the roads connect the populated areas of the country. However, due to the low density of roads, the intensity of traffic on them and the density of road flow are high.

In Israel, there are approximately 18,000 km of roads. 250 km are highways. Construction of another 200 km of highways is underway. The quality of Israeli roads is excellent, and transporting goods on them poses no problems.

Aviation communication with Israel

There are a total of 27 operational airports in Israel, 10 of which are military. Four airports have international status. They are located in the vicinity of the cities:

  • Tel Aviv.
  • Eilat. There are 2 international airports in the area of the city.
  • Haifa.

At the end of January 2019, the official opening of another international airport "Timna" took place in Israel. It is expected to replace both airports in Eilat and serve as a backup for "Ben Gurion" airport in Tel Aviv.

Air freight is the most expensive method of transportation. However, it is the fastest, and there are no technical problems with receiving air cargo in Israel.

Israeli maritime transport

Through the Mediterranean Sea, Israel has a connection to the world's oceans, can send cargo by sea to all continents of the planet, and receive return cargo flows. There are 4 main ports in Israel. They are located in Haifa, Ashdod, Ashkelon, and Eilat.

Railways of Israel

The length of the Israeli railway tracks is 853 km. The gauge is European — 1425 mm.

Export goods of Israel

The main item of Israeli exports is the sale of various weapons. In addition, Israel supplies high-tech goods, chemicals, and agricultural products to foreign markets.
