Who owns reefer trucks, and how to find them for cargo transportation
Reefer trucks can be owned by two types of owners:
- large transport companies;
- small carrier companies or individuals.
When choosing a specific carrier, keep in mind that large carriers have a modern fleet, can offer cargo insurance, and provide additional services for document processing and customs clearance. Small carriers cannot offer all of this but are willing to transport cargo for less money.
If you did not find the reefer truck you need on this page, scroll up and activate the menu on the left titled “Cargo for road transport”, select “Add cargo”, fill out the request form, and be sure to specify that you need a reefer truck. This request will be seen by all freight carriers, and their representatives will contact you soon.
Below the menu described above, there is also a menu for carriers titled “Transport for road transport”. If you have a vehicle but do not have a request for transportation yet, select the “Add transport” option and fill out the request. The request will be seen by shippers, and they will contact you soon to find your cargo.
You can also place requests for cargo and transportation from the main page of the website. Use the “International transport” menu for this.
When to use a reefer truck for transportation

Such goods include:
- food products, in particular: dairy products, meat and fish, including frozen, frozen vegetables;
- flowers and floral products;
- various medical preparations;
- perfumes and cosmetics;
- some chemical preparations;
- other goods with special storage and transportation conditions.
Characteristics of reefer trucks used for cargo transportation
For transporting goods that require special storage conditions, trucks consisting of a reefer truck and a trailer equipped with its own refrigeration unit are used. The total volume of cargo compartments ranges from 20 to 100 m³. The internal dimensions of the truck are usually 8.10 x 2.4 x 2.6 m, and the trailer is 7.50 x 2.4 x 2.6 m. Reefer trucks can maintain the required temperature in the cargo compartment between +12 and -20 degrees Celsius, with ambient temperatures ranging from -30 to +30 degrees.
Each reefer truck is equipped with a thermograph. This is an automatic temperature recorder throughout the transportation journey. The thermograph data allows the cargo owner to ensure that it has not thawed, for example, during transit and was not refrozen afterward.
Region of application for reefer trucks for cargo delivery
If there are roads between the point of departure and the point of arrival of the cargo, then a reefer truck can be used. Thus, this type of transport can send and deliver goods from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, the Baltics, Scandinavia, old and new Europe, and the Middle East. Such transportation can practically be carried out between most populated areas of the Eurasian continent.
Who should choose a reefer truck for cargo transportation
Reefer trucks should be used when the cargo occupies a large volume but is light in weight. If the cargo is heavy but small, it is better to order a regular reefer truck.
