What is a car carrier

Characteristics of car carriers

Domestic car carriers can transport 7 - 8 passenger cars belonging to class B. These are cars like Renault Logan. Foreign car carriers with a trailer can simultaneously transport 9 - 10 cars of the same class. Naturally, when transporting SUVs and minibuses, the number of transported vehicles decreases. Most of the car carriers used are of the open type. However, there are also covered car carriers (with sides or tarpaulin) that ensure maximum preservation of the paintwork of the transported vehicles.

There are also car carriers designed to transport 1, 2, or 3 cars. Usually, such vehicles are used as tow trucks. However, the fundamental possibility of carrying out intercity and even international transport on such vehicles exists.

Who should use a car carrier

Car carriers are required by companies trading in new and used cars from Europe, as well as by individuals importing several cars or an expensive vehicle from abroad, which they do not want to risk on a long journey. Sometimes buyers of inexpensive used cars in the EU join together and send the purchased vehicle by car carrier. This option reduces road risks and can turn out to be cheaper than driving the car by itself.
